Dear Keith.
I asked Stepan Shiyatov (he came back yesterday) what he showed
you in Cambridge. Really, one of the picture (longterm
fluctuations) shows the low growth during 400-200 BC. But it
is only 5-10% lower of average. Long trends are revealed poorly
because of short individual series and standardisation.
However tree line, according our prliminary estimation, during
this period moved to the south.
