Not much time at the moment. Running CRU is taking more effort than I thought !
Gone through this and made suggestions, just to the ToLAs document. Also attached
a document with the list of potential authors of all chapters in WGI - probably not yet
all approved, but it contains a few names we might like to use but can't as they will
be already involved.
No idea how soon IPCC will send this latter list out, but I can see no harm in sending
your two attachments plus the Authors Contact Sheet for our chapter.
I've probably gone a little overboard in the alterations I've made. I realise we don't
to be too prescriptive, but we will likely have to until we meet them all. I share your
reservations about all except Easterling, Parker and Soden. Albert Klein Tank should be
OK and I believe Jim Renwick will be (but I've never met him). Looking at the other
(e.g 6, 9 and 10) we've not done very well. Let's give them a chance in the first
Happy for you to send the email off, or I can do it if you've not much time in the
next week
or so.

I think we should try to get our LAs working. I am attaching 2 word documents that I
would propose sending out. The first you saw before.
The second is new and you should feel free to edit it. That is the one that will be a
key one in getting started. We may want to also send a version in plain text.
Frankly I am a bit applled at the crew we have. I worry that not only will several not
pull their weight but that they may be a drain on the rest of us? Maybe you know them
better than me and can help with the assignments?
